Welcome to the genealogy library of the House of Stapleton. This is where centuries of research, records, and family history come together in a searchable database of people, families, and connections. You may begin your journey by browsing the surname index, selecting the first letter of a family name, or exploring the complete list of surnames. If you already know who you are looking for, the person index and search tools can help you quickly locate an individual by first name, last name, or both. Genealogy is part research, part detective work, and part treasure hunt. Sometimes the search leads exactly where you expect. Sometimes it takes a surprising turn down a path that has been hidden for centuries.

One such path began while researching a connection to Charlemagne for a special project. Along the way, a number of connections appeared to the royal families of England, Scotland, and Wales. Following those trails led to an even larger collection of noble families, dynasties, and historical houses that shaped the course of European history. The result is the Index of Noble Houses, a collection of noble and royal houses gathered during the course of our research. We make no claim that any king, queen, prince, or duke is a member of our family. We simply found the journey fascinating and thought others might enjoy exploring these remarkable families and the history they helped create.

Another project led us to the people whose names fill history books, documentaries, and legends. The Famous and Infamous People section contains many of the individuals who influenced the world for better or worse. Some were heroes, some were villains, and some were a bit of both. Once again, we make no claim of relationship to these individuals. Their inclusion is simply part of the fun of discovering how people, families, events, and history often intersect in unexpected ways.

Whether you are searching for an ancestor, exploring a family line, or simply following an interesting trail through history, we hope you enjoy the adventure.
