Historical Notes

He was bequeathed 395 acres on the Staunton River in Halifax County, that his father had purchased in 1749, and on which his father was living at the time of his death. This land was originally located in Lunenburg County, but due to political reorganizations had been placed in the new Halifax County, in 1752. His own Will was filed in Halifax County, on 23 February 1823.
