As we research our family lines we run into many famous people. If you happen to be from one of the founding families, i.e. first off the boat, then you may end up related to just about everyone. None of the people listed here are considered close relatives by any stretch of the imagination but, it has been fun finding the links in history. We have listed some famous people by category such as Political, Military, Nobility and so on.

As with all good things there are some not so good things. However, in genealogy even the bad guys (and girls) are welcome. Every family has its black sheep so, while researching connections to the rich and famous I ran into some of infamous or nortorious through history. Their stories are intresting if sometimes violent.
