Gaucher I de Châtillon, died around 1101, was lord of Châtillon at the end of the 11th ecentury. He was the son of Guy I of Châtillon and Ermengarde de Choisy. He became lord of Châtillon after 1089 on the death of his father Guy I de Châtillon1. He was a vassal and one of the relatives of the Count of Blois Étienne-Henri. He was present at the Council of Clermont in 1095, in which his uncle Pope Urban II called for the crusade and where he was one of the first to respond to. He left for the Holy Land towards the end of 1096, probably with Count Stephen Henry, and joined the First Crusade, and died during this expedition. At his death, he was replaced as lord of Châtillon by his eldest son Henry.
